Review of IAPT (Changing Minds)

[name removed] has always made me feel fully listened to and understood. Although my faith was never discussed, I’m confident she would treat everyone fairly.

Suggested improvements
I genuinely can’t think of anything- by the end of the course, I really feel more empowered.

Throughout the whole process I felt listened to, supported and fully involved in the recovery process.

Suggested improvements
Face to face sessions, even if just some, are very helpful.

I feel that [name removed] has been very understanding, empathetic and non-judgmental which helped me feeling empowered and comfortable to share with [name removed] my thoughts and feelings. I felt [name removed] and I worked as a team through out the CBT treatment and [name removed] was very encouraging and motivated me to face my fear through behavioral experiments and exposures. Prior to accessing CBT therapy I felt that there was no way out of my OCD and felt stuck with my never ending rituals. [name removed] helped me to overcome my OCD and live my life to the full again. Now I have a very good understanding of my OCD and safety behaviors and triggers. [name removed] has now given me all the tools I need to continue with my progress after therapy. Thank you [name removed] for helping me to be happy again!

Good.

I have received excellent care because i have learnt to understand and how to manage my anxiety. I feel I was completely transformed after my CBT sessions with [name removed]. I now feel like I can live and enjoy my life with my family, whereas before my CBT therapy my days were consumed by anxiety worries. On a personal level I felt [name removed] to be professional, flexible, easy to talk to, non-judgmental and encouraging and motivating.

Loved my therapist [name removed] she was very patient and caring and listened to why therapy had perhaps not had a more positive result for me in the past. She talked through options and made sure I knew everything was my choice. I can’t thank her enough for helping me feel like I am in control of my life again.

The wait time was soo long. I was high priority as I was postnatal but it still took months to get past the very long and drawn out assessment stage. I was in a very bad way and my health visitor got involved to ensure I got the help I desperately needed a bit quicker.

Review of Perinatal Mental Health
20th March 2022

The whole care received by [name removed] has been exceptional from the beginning. The initial appointments were handled with care and compassion as I discussed my mental health. Following this, the 1:1 sessions I had with [name removed] really helped to quickly help me to make reasonable expectations of myself - She was professional, relatable, compassionate and was able to relate to my sense of humour. These sessions also helped me to prepare for our baby to arrive and work on the essentials on my 'to-do' list, realise that caring for a baby is hard work and that counts as being busy (in my mind) and ease me back into a routine as a family of 4, ensuring I also made time for myself in my recovery. I then attended the CFT group with [name removed] and [name removed], at first, I was dubious but soon found techniques that worked for me. It was good to hear others and know you are not alone but also to understand we are all different and have different needs and triggers. I never felt pressured to talk but did as I felt at ease with [name removed] and [name removed] (and the group!). They always stayed behind to answer any questions or discuss anything we needed which offered that extra level of ongoing support. The care received has changed my mindset completely and I know there will be challenges in the future however, this is the strongest I have mentally felt for many years. I am confident in being a mum and know it is ok to cry when needed and talk. I cannot praise the whole service enough - Thank you!

Suggested improvements
I appreciate the sessions were required online due to covid - I would hope they could be face to face if the patients felt comfortable.
